‘Swipe Dat’. The Miami-based singer and multi-platinum recording artist recently signed to BMG, both for publishing and recordings, has unveiled her first all-English song, following the video for her debut single ‘Nadie Como Yo’, just released last month, which has already generated over eight million views alone.
“I’m so excited to share my new single ‘Swipe Dat’ with all of you!,” said Malu. “I dedicate this song to all my boss girls (and boys) out there and I hope this song inspires you to unapologetically be who you are and know your worth.”
Born in Cuba and raised in Madrid, Malu discovered music via Shakira and Jennifer Lopez. Following a move to Miami, she began showcasing her talents on social media. On Musical.ly, she lit up a string of viral videos that garnered her millions of followers along the way. On Instagram, she attracted an audience of 7 million to date, posting singing videos that often went viral. In 2017, after teaming up with Miami based management firm THE Group, she made her formal debut with the single ‘Luna Llena’. The song went Top 20 on the Billboard Top Latin Songs chart, clocked 70 million-plus views, and was certified RIAA Latin Platinum. This was the first of several singles that saw her continue to generate millions of views with ‘En Mi Mente’, amassing over 10 million views, and ‘Hasta Luego’ with UK’s HRVY, which has generated upwards of 50 million streams.
